Initial Psychotherapy Session
Your 1st meeting to begin therapy with a psychologist. You both ask and answer questions.
Service Description
An initial psychotherapy session can also be called an intake session. This is the first meeting between you and your psychologist. During this session, your therapist is gathering information to learn more about you, your reasons for seeking therapy, your personal history, and any significant life events or challenges. At the same time, you are also getting to know your therapist and their style. It is common for the initial session to feel different from further follow-up psychotherapy sessions because it is just the beginning! Some common things to expect in an initial: 1) You may need to complete some forms ahead of time 2) Your psychologist will ask you questions 3) You may have questions for your psychologist 4) You and your therapist will discuss logistics & scheduling
